Greg Laurie Tells the Rest of the Story Behind Jesus Revolution

Jesus Revolution
is in its fourth week in theaters nationwide, and Intercessors for America ran my introduction to an article telling the rest of the story about his parents...

Lord, thank You that Jesus Revolution is doing better at the box office than many of the films the world is celebrating! Thank You for the story told by Jesus Revolution and the bigger story it didn’t have time to tell. Continue to shift our culture back to You, and may legacy media acknowledge it’s happening!

Jesus Revolution grossed more than four of the films up for Best Picture at the Oscars combined, and Jon Erwin is the first filmmaker in cinematic history to achieve four A+ CinemaScores! During their prayer team’s call on March 3 Greg Laurie read a letter about worship, prayer, and evangelism that broke out in a theater when the film stopped showing after half an hour. He and the host of the prayer call, Kyle Thompson, told many stories of revival breaking out after the film ends. In one case someone was baptized in a fountain outside the theater! Thompson talked about how glad the team is that the film opened after the Asbury Outpouring (the film’s soft opening was within hours of the final public service at Asbury University), so no one can say that the film sparked the Outpouring! On March 10 Michael W. Smith was the guest on their prayer call, and he prayed these lyrics from Zach Reese’s “The More I Seek You” over the prayer team and those seeing Jesus Revolution:

The more I seek you
The more I find you
The more I find you
The more I love you
I want to sit at your feet
Drink from the cup in your hand
Lay back against you and breathe, feel your heart beat
This love is so deep, its more than I can stand
I melt in your peace, its overwhelming

In the article below, Laurie tells the rest of the story about his mom and stepdad, how they were overwhelmed by the Lord’s love so deep…

‘Jesus Revolution’ Grosses More than Four Oscar Nominees…Combined

John Nolte points out how well Jesus Revolution is doing at the box office when compared to films nominated for best picture at the Oscars Sunday night: “Nolte: Jesus Revolution Grosses More than 4 Oscar Nominees…Combined.”

Lord, continue to draw people to yourself though this amazing film about revival

Jesus Revolution Opens with Collegiate Day of Prayer

The team at Jesus Revolution chose to open on the same weekend as the Collegiate Day of Prayer (on a date set 200 years ago), but neither group knew they'd be drafting on the Asbury Outpouring!

Intercessors for America posted four articles I wrote about the film:

It was also picked up by Breaking Christian News. The brief article included Cameron Arnett (actor in Overcomer, Running the Bases, I Still Believe) and I praying over the film and upcoming Christ Over Career events in Indiana and L.A.:

That article included my interviews with folks who saw it and/or were a part of it, including one of the producers, Kevin Downes:

This article embedded the original trailer, but here is a new worship video by Michael W. Smith using footage from the film:

and

It included my footage of Jon Erwin, co-director and one of the producers, being prayed over at the Christian Worldview Film Festival, one of its first public screenings:

Collegiate Day of Prayer
You can watch the recording of their service, which was filled to the overflow rooms, just like the Outpouring had been. I suspect many who came for the Outpouring stayed for the Collegiate Day of Prayer:

Don't forget to sponsor a college: www.CollegiateDayOfPrayer.org. There's no cost, just the commitment to pray for that school.

Join Us for Jesus Revolution

Joyce and I have just returned from the Asbury Outpouring. If you're not on our prayer team, you may not have heard, but Asbury University's February 8 service still hasn't ended! As I write it's been going for 277 continuous hours! Joyce and I were reporting on it, and you can see our articles and interviews at www.RichDrama.com/AsburyRevival

In 1970 Asbury had a revival that went for 185 hours. Four months later Time magazine validated the Jesus Movement with a cover that said, "The Jesus Revolution." Now, with tens of thousands flooding Asbury's campus from at least 24 colleges and universities, individuals from all 50 states, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Brazil, at least, a Time magazine of the film world is releasing Jesus Revolution coast-to-coast.

We'd love for you to join us, so we can tell stories about the Asbury Outpouring after a film about another revival 50 years ago. God is on the move again, and we can't stop telling people about it!

Our church is attending the screening in White Plains, and we're going out for a meal afterward. If you're interested in joining us let us know through the contact form at the very bottom of this page, so we'll reserve a large enough table for you to join us.

I've now written three articles about the film and interviewed producer Kevin Downes: www.RichDrama.com/JesusRevolution. I posted the newest trailer below...

Hope to see you soon!

Oh, and next Tuesday at 7 p.m. the Hears the Story series continues. I'll play one of the narrators and a messenger of The Eternal One.

On February 28 I was just offered a role in their series I'm really excited about, but they haven't announced the cast list yet. Stay tuned

It will be live only at The Salvation Army's Theatre 315, 315 West 47th Street, New York, NY.

Click here for the Eventbrite page if you'd like to reserve your free seat, and click here for the schedule. It shows Grace Hwoang on February 28. She's writing songs she'll perform based on the passages of Scripture we'll read on those dates.

Appreciate prayers as we prepare!

Jesus Revolution

My intro to the new trailer and new poster for Jesus Revolution posted on www.HeadlinePrayer.org: "The Jesus Revolution Is Coming!" The article has a link to free tickets!

I'm always so blessed by the comments people leave, so be sure to scroll to the bottom of the article. I just had to share this one from Linda:

My husband and I met in San Francisco in 1962 and plunged for 14 years into the occult/psychedelic New Age “revival” that exploded throughout the Bay Area. In the mid-80s, we returned to college in Oregon to try to make something of ourselves, but we continued to be plagued by sin, the devil, and our lostness. In 1976, not long after I graduated, I got uterine cancer & was scheduled for a hysterectomy. I hadn’t been able to have children in our 15 years of marriage, but several days before the scheduled operation, I received a little booklet about how Jesus Christ still heals today. As I read the words, “It is a simple matter for Christ to put His hand on the chaos that is cancer and bring order,” Heaven opened up, and a river of life flowed through me. I met my Savior, who told me I was going to have a baby. My doctor confirmed my healing and canceled the hysterectomy. (I later learned he was a Christian who’d prayed for me.) I was 35 years old. A few weeks later, my husband was convicted of his sin and received Christ. As God led us out of our old life, He led us into a version of the Jesus Movement that was going on in Oregon and Washington among some of the established churches where we saw and experienced many other wonderful miracles. I would LOVE to see such a revival once again, and many of us here in Washington are praying for it.

Pray with America's Leaders: Censorship in Woke Hollywood

Pray with America's Leaders released Part 3 of my interview with the Kendrick Brothers. It's preceded by a wonderful interview with Hollywood insider, best-selling author, and attorney James Hirsen, who talks about how challenging it was for the Kendrick Brothers to get their newest movie, Lifemark, into theaters.

Click here or the image below to watch the program:

Also, today on www.HeadlinePrayer.org we shared the new poster of the upcoming film Jesus Revolution, which was revealed for the first time today: "New Christian Film Needs Your Prayers."

In the poster reveal I shared footage of Jon Erwin introducing a rough cut of the film at the Christian Worldview Film Festival. Stephen Kendrick invited the whole festival to pray over Jon and this wonderful film, coming to theaters nationwide in February.

The Kendrick Brothers' blessing and prayer were also included in an article on www.HeadlinePrayer.org entitled "Christians Censored by Woke Hollywood." You can watch their blessing directly by clicking here or the image below:

Visit www.RichDrama.com/KendrickBrothers to see Parts 1 and 2 of my Kendrick Brothers' interview. Part 4 will be released on Friday, September 9, at 12:15 p.m. during a special program with several other cast members on www.IFApray.org/watch.

I play a lead in Providence, which you can bring to your area.
